In competitive Jiu-jitsu, strength and endurance are key to winning the fight. Entering a competition with superior strength, but not the endurance to give it your all for an entire round is a waste of that strength. And likewise, to have endurance but not the strength to perform the fundamentals. Unbalanced conditioning leaves you vulnerable to soreness, injury, and as a result...to losing the fight.
I’ve owned Competitive Edge Fitness in Ogden, UT since 2005 and am the Fitness Consultant and Ground Fighting Instructor for the local police department. I’ve authored 2 books: "Warrior Core: Core Training Secrets for the Modern Combat Warrior" and "Battle Tested: How to Train Like Your Life Depends on It", and have written training articles for Jiu-Jitsu Magazine, Fight Camp Conditioning, and numerous other print and online publications.
